Vacation / Missed Time Policy

As noted in the Student “Program Guide” (which is referenced in the member agreement), Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do is closed for approximately three weeks during the year: 1 week Spring Break (consistent with APS Spring Break), 1 week Summer Break (typically in August), and the 1 week to 10 days around the Winter Holidays (between Christmas and New Years).  Besides this (and a few federal government holidays) we are open “year round.”

If you miss class (vacation, sickness, etc.) you can either “make up” classes (for 1 week or less) or have this missed time added to your member agreement (2 consecutive weeks or more).

Specifically, here is our policy regarding missed time:

  • If you miss one week of classes, we allow you to attend additional classes (beyond your class limit) the following week(s) as “make up” classes.
  • If you miss 2 consecutive weeks or more, email us with the specific dates of your time away, and we simply add that time on to the end of your agreement. Your monthly tuition payments will run as scheduled, but the missed time will extend your expiration date. So, you may have 4, 6 or 8 weeks (or more) at the end of your agreement where the student attends, but you do not pay tuition as you have already made the payments.  (Agreements must be completed in order to receive accrued time.)
  • For extended time away (typically 3-4 months or more), we can implement a ‘freeze addendum’ to monthly agreements. After a $50 ‘freeze fee’ payment is made, along with one month tuition (applied to the month of return), auto payments are deactivated until the second month back (again, the one month payment is applied to the first month back). The $50 also covers a one-on-one private lesson to help the student transition back into classes. If you do not return at all, then that one month payment serves as your “35 days written notice” as per the member agreement. Then, there would be no further charges.
  • If you “unenroll” (terminate your agreement) and then return in the future, registration would again be required, and monthly tuition rates would align with the most current rate.

If you have any questions about this policy or your specific missed time, please do not hesitate to email us.
